Virgin and Unicorn
This painting reflects the Japanese heritage of Kinuko Craft, who acknowledges using many older art forms as inspiration.
In this painting, there is an interesting fusion of Oriental-style artistry with Indo-European mythos: the unicorn and the “proverbial” virgin. Notice the special touches of the unicorn’s horn protruding through the upper border, and the pair of deer running in the lower border.
