The Sorceress

Lisa Hunt’s soul medium is watercolours. This painting was used on the cover of the box and accompanying manual, for the Shapeshifter Tarot (currently in its sixth printing).

The Sorceress marks the beginning of when the artist started to make a name for herself in the art world, so it will always be special.

Lisa first brainstorms and records her rough ideas as thumbnail drawings. Colour saturation is built up once the drawing has been refined and prepared for painting. Dry brushing and other special effects are added at the very end.

She has the following advice for aspiring artists — “Follow your creative instincts and stay true to yourself. Don’t try to paint like anyone else, but nurture your own individual style. If you feel passionate about what you’re doing, then the journey will surely be infinitely rich and exciting. If you love what you are doing, failure is not an option.”

A range of stunning, mystical pieces awaits you in her gallery.

PS: Happy Holidays — I’ll next be back on Wednesday (or earlier, it depends).

    Hi Jess;
    I am on vacation too, so I could not keep up with your blog for a few days. But it seems like you’ve posted lots of great stuff again.
    Happy Holidays to you too!
