Battle Ship

I think I have a thing for the high seas…

This image was painted in 2005 by Rado Javor. It is a fantasy artwork for the Elveon project, which was released not too long ago in 2007. Elveon focuses on realistic combat and a gritty art direction.

In this epic battle scene, the capital ship is crushing the enemy fleet, with the help of a divine artefact. The ships would look very big, being the principal war machines of the realm.

These were the artist’s own design, done on Photoshop and a Wacom tablet. One takes an average of 30-50 hours. That’s fast, considering the detail(s)!

Rado Javor is based in the UK/Slovakia.
