Dark Elves of Warhammer

Meoooww, I could spend the next whole week at this website.

These two paintings are part of the concept art for The Dark Elves / Sorcerers, of Warhammer — a new MMORPG from the creators of Dark Age of Camelot.

In the game, players must decide on an allegiance and join an Army. Those that sway more to “the good side” may fight for the Armies of Order as a Dwarf, noble High Elf, or human soldier. Those more susceptible to “the dark side” may join forces with the sinister armies as a savage Orc/Goblin, vicious (and lovely) Dark Elf, or human Chaos worshipper.

Gabe Amatangelo, a designer on the Warhammer team, describes Warhammer as “the fantasy genre with soul.”

Mike Franchina, the concept artist, says that he spends most of his time “thinking about what looks cool, and why.” This is inclusive of many hours figuring “how best to mutate a zealot’s face, into the most painful and disturbing configuration possible.”
